Internship acknowledgements
Aloha pumehana kākou!
He Leo mahalo kēia no koʻu mau mea Kokua no kēia haʻawina koina no ka papa LIS 690, no ke kau kupulau 2020.
Greetings! This website was created for the LIS 690 Library and Information Science course at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. My name is Sharnelle "Moki" Renti Cruz and I had created this website as an online exhibit for the Luciano Minerbi collection and to showcase the various items and materials which comprise the collection.
This project would not have been possible without my internship supervisor and mentor Helen Wong Smith. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work on this amazing collection, I am eternally grateful for your guidance and expertise in the field of archival science and life, as well as your help during this internship; I have learned such valuable skills which I will treasure forever. Mahalo Piha!!!
I would also like to send my aloha to Dr. Noriko Asato, she was not only the instructor for this course but she has also provided me with valuable advice, the opportunity to obtain career experience, as well as provided me the confidence and guidance needed to complete this project.
Throughout my experience as an LIS student, I have never been able to meet with a donor, so having the ability to meet not only the collection donor but someone of such high esteem in the field of Urban and Regional Planning was life changing. Mahalo to Dr. Luciano Minerbi for your patience, guidance, and trust that we could help to spread awareness of your students, colleagues, as well as your contributions to Hawaiʻi and the world! Being able to speak with you was not only insightful, but also educational and fascinating.
And lastly I wish to thank my colleague Joy Gabriel, ʻaʻohe hana nui ke alu ʻia, no task if too big when done together by all. And as the saying goes, Joy I want to thank you for your work on the Luciano Minerbi Collection, especially the Hawaiʻi Environmental Risk Ranking Practicum! Thanks for helping me to understand the collection and providing the passion which inspired me to dive deeper into the collection.
